More than
the machines.

Behind every piece of equipment is a person. Behind the company is a story worth telling.

Rooted in
community.

Milne’s Towing & Recovery has always been about more than moving vehicles.

It’s about showing up when people need help, taking pride in the job, and looking after the community that has supported the business for generations.

Where it
all began.

The Milne family’s automotive roots go back generations. Lindsay Milne grew up in the family trade and developed a passion for the work long before towing became the focus.

In 1997, the family concentrated the business on towing and recovery.

Over the decades that followed, Lindsay became known for taking on challenging jobs, investing in training, and doing whatever he could to help his community.

His perspective was simple: in a small community, you do what’s needed.

For Lindsay, the business was always a family affair. The trucks weren’t just part of his working life. They were part of the memories being made with the next generation, too.

The trucks
have changed.
The reason we
show up hasn’t.

Milne’s has grown over the years, but the heart of the business hasn’t changed. From the earlier days of the fleet to the trucks on the road today, the focus has always been the same: show up, work hard, and help the community when it matters.

Family-run. Community-driven. Built over generations.

Now: the Milne's fleet today, a pickup, a row of white heavy tow trucks and wreckers and a blue loader tractor, lined up in front of a grey four-bay shop. Then: the earlier Milne's fleet, eight white and blue pickups and tow trucks, lined up on a gravel lot beside a grey single-bay garage under autumn trees.

The next
generation.

May 1, 2024 marked a new chapter for Milne’s Towing & Recovery. After decades at the helm, Lindsay passed the business down to his daughter, Brenna, and her husband, Rob.

For the family, it wasn’t simply a change in ownership. It was a chance to keep building on the work, reputation, and relationships that came before them.

Our shop at 1331 Highway 359 in Steam Mill marks another milestone for Milne’s. With the sign going up in September 2026, it became another part of the family’s story and a place to continue building on everything that came before.

Today, Milne’s continues to serve the Kentville area and surrounding communities from Steam Mill, Nova Scotia. The people leading the business may have changed, but the commitment to doing the job properly remains.

The road
goes on.
